The stranger

It was as a stranger you first appeared
And a graciousness spread.
You shared a thought, and it expressed
Such joys of harmony.
Clearly you had a gift of love
And shared it unreservedly.
Its source was such you felt no strain,
And blessed in endless giving.
The more you gave, its source unspent
Drew us in to know
Such love’s for all, if we’d but share,
For of the Christ you’d given.
And if we’d but give as you again,
Again, the Christ is risen.
