Freedom from fear of dementia
Rebecca Odegaard, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, lives in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the guest for this online Sentinel audio chat on spirituality.com. Rebecca has been in the full-time healing practice since 1989, and has been teaching Christian Science since 1994. This text has been edited for print.
How do you deal with people all around you who say they can’t remember names anymore and think it’s normal? I’ve been trying to combat this complacency, and it is getting harder every day.
Daily we need to prayerfully identify ourselves as children of God. It’s a very different definition of generic man (both male and female): God’s idea, God’s expression, God’s image and likeness. When we pray to correctly identify ourselves every morning as spiritual and complete, we have a place to start from in our daily exchanges with others.
