Thank you for the invitation to “Dive in” to the Bible (Sentinel, November 21). So I did! My daily plunge into the weekly Bible Lesson gives me opportunities for spiritual study and exploration of the written word. These sessions provide needed inspiration throughout the day. I’m grateful too that my Christian Science association includes selections from the Bible as part of our annual reading assignment, allowing deeper understanding of “the inspired Word of the Bible,” as Mary Baker Eddy has it in the first tenet of Christian Science (Science and Health, p. 497).
I’ve found that following an earlier invitation to “Read the Bible through in one year,” from a college professor’s handout, is an excellent way to continue my Scriptural activity and leave me refreshed and focused as I go about the day. So, thanks to the writers who contributed to this special section in this Sentinel, especially those who responded to the “Question of the week” and have also gained the refreshment of Scriptural waters.
