My change of perspective
Originally published in O Arauto da Ciência Cristã, the Portuguese edition of The Herald of Christian Science.
I have attended Sunday School from the time I was very young, and I have had many opportunities to rely on the teachings of Christian Science and to put them into practice. During these years, I learned the importance of watching and praying, that is, focusing thought on what is right and on the attributes of God, divine Principle.
In 2008, I delved into political studies on the behavior of people and on the responsibility that everyone should have toward the environment and society. During this research, I came into contact with some very unethical situations, which made me very disappointed because I did not agree with some of the positions that had been taken in certain circumstances. I decided to go deeper in my studies in order to gain a better understanding of the reason for the lack of social and corporate conscience, particularly in relation to the preservation of the environment.
