Decisions, decisions...
Maybe you have a big decision to make, and you’re fearful of the consequences of getting it wrong. Or maybe you have a significant challenge to deal with, and you’re unsure what to do.
I find it helpful to remember that ultimately, every problem has a spiritual solution. There is really no such thing as an insurmountable evil, against which we are powerless. On the contrary, there is always a right way forward, and we can trust that this way will become clear.
It’s no small thing to remind ourselves that God is the only power. His infinitude and allness preclude the possibility of any other influence in our lives apart from Him. Moreover, since God is good, goodness alone governs our lives. By insisting on the fact that God is the source of our intelligence, our only Mind, we can affirm our obedience to that Mind. This leads us to make good choices, and perhaps even to pursue courses of action previously unseen.
