My adventures around the world

Adventure writer and photographer Cameron Martindell answers kids' questions about his work (offyonder.com).

How old were you when you started to go on adventure trips?

My parents started me on adventures at a young age. My father was a fighter pilot in the US Air Force, and the military moved us to Germany when I was seven years old. I attended the local German school, which was an adventure in learning the language. And I remember we had to drive to the big city of Saarbrücken to go to the Christian Science church and Sunday School. I also got involved with the Boy Scouts and our troop did lots of camping trips. That’s what got me started in the world of outdoor adventures.

When did you know that this was what you wanted to do?
