DOES PRAYER HAVE MEANING in the techno-centric world of the 21st century? The nonprofit foundation, Fellowship in Prayer, explored that question at their 60th Anniversary Conference held on the campus of Princeton University on June 24–27, 2010. The Conference was titled, "Prayer: An answer for the 21st Century." The following are comments from an interview by Odyssey Networks with Fellowship in Prayer's Executive Director Janet Haag:

"[Fellowship in Prayer] was founded in 1949 in response to the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We get people together from different faith traditions, from different wisdom traditions, to pray together, because that is at the heart of what people do in all religions. ...

"And so if we can tap into that very, very important and powerful resource in people's lives, and understand that while the way in which we practice is different, or the doctrines or dogmas are different, when it comes down to it, the longings in our heart are the same and the things we pray for are ultimately the same.
