DIVINE LAW DEFANGS VIOLENCE
Is violence something we ought to fear?
That's the question at the core of this week's issue. And the answer, powerfully expressed by our writers, is an emphatic No.
Christian Science doesn't encourage anyone to put on rose-colored glasses or blinders when it comes to threatening situations. Sadly, many people—including perhaps many of our readers—live in places where violent acts may be committed frequently or even accepted as the norm. But Christian Science does rest on the central fact that God is purely good, and that He cares for and protects every aspect of His creation. That means harmony, progress, and peace are rules of our existence, and these rules effectively prove the powerlessness of animosity, instability, or hostility of any kind. The law of Love defangs violence and affirms divine government.
