PROOFS OF PRAYER'S IMMEDIATE HEALING POWER

When I was five years old, because there were several cases of measles in my school, one day they sent everybody home. An epidemic was feared, and the health authorities sent inspectors to the students' homes to make sure they wouldn't go walking around outside. When my dad heard what was happening, he came home immediately and met the health inspector, who told him that I had measles and would have to rest for some time.

My dad came in alone to see me, and when I saw him, I told him that I had measles in my body. He replied very firmly, "No, son, definitely not. The measles are not in your body, because they are no part of you." Since I very much liked playing with little tin soldiers, he drew on a piece of paper with color crayons my favorite soldier, which carried a bayonet, so that I would understand what he was about to say. He made a circle around him and said, "If you are this little soldier, where are the measles? Can there be anything outside the circle of God's presence?"

I attended the Christian Science Sunday School and was learning that God is tender and powerful Love; therefore, it was very natural for me to identify with what my dad was saying to me. To my surprise, while he was speaking to me of God, all the symptoms disappeared. When the doctor, who was still in the house, saw me, he couldn't believe that I had no trace of the measles.
