Our prayers for rain
The country of Grenada experienced a long spell of dry weather earlier this year that threatened plants and wildlife. So the Sunday School students of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Grenada decided to pray. They shared some of their prayers with the Sentinel.
God brings rain to the flowers, and people can drink the water. God is Principle. And Principle is law, like a traffic light that goes stop and go. Give water to people. That is the law of a shower of blessing, like stop and go.
Akash, 6
Thank you, God, for the rain that you give us and the beautiful flowers and the life that you give us. Jesus said thank you before he healed. We say thank you before the rain comes and when the rain comes.
Amesh, 9
After a rain shower, we look for rainbows. I once saw a rainbow at school. The colors of the rainbow were red, orange, green, yellow, pink, blue, purple, and blue again, and green. We thank God for the rain and the rainbows. Mischa, 4
Thank God for bringing rain to the environment and for giving us the sun. Thank you, God, for making the flowers grow all around us.
Kaiya, 7
Thank you, Lord, for "all the days of my life" (Ps. 23:6). And help others and protect them throughout the days. Give life to people who need it, and let people live in peace. That is a shower of blessing.
Kimanii, 10
God, please give us rain and keep us safe. God keeps us safe because He loves us. He gives us rain because we need it. God, divine Love, "always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).
Malia, 7
I'm grateful for the showers of rain blessings and for the rivers that provide water for Grenada.
Augustus, 9

The kids' Sunday School teacher, Helane Smith, told us that it hadn't rained in weeks. After they sent these prayers to the Sentinel, it started to rain again! Everyone was very happy.
