UNLIMITED GOOD

No one needs reminding that the world economy has ridden a roller coaster over the past two and a half years. Much of the industrialized world has been undergoing a recession. And although things now seem to be on the upturn, we felt it would be good this week to refresh the call for continuing prayer.

This week's cover stories (which begin on page 14) show how God's law infallibly governs the relationship of supply and demand, which therefore cannot be subject to variation. It is forever held in perfect balance. God does not give variable or limited good. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "I have all, and abound:.... my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:18, 19).

In one of our cover pieces, Caryl Farkas describes how after living in a region ranked lowest in the nation for eduction, and in an economic environment where the unemployment rate was nearly twice the national average, her life, and that of her husband and children, was transformed by "acknowledging the power of Spirit." In another article, Lynne Goldsmith tells us how through prayer she came to the conclusion that we each have our own place and purpose in life, and that "our only 'competition' is challenging ourselves to express more of the divine qualities we reflect from God." And Pamela Lampson rejoices over "divine generosity" in her poem "A coat of many pockets."
