HEALED OF PNEUMONIA SYMPTOMS AND FACIAL GROWTH
Hungry for a believable God, I studied comparative religious in college. After I married and had children, I continued to search—reading about, researching, and thinking about different spiritual disciplines. My young daughters accompanied me in visiting one after another of the churches available to us on both sides of the US/Mexican border near our Mexicali, Mexico, home.
The explanation of God and His/Her creation that made the most sense to me was in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. I first came across the book when my sister-in-law loaned me a copy. Here was something logical: a totally good God. I decided to try living a life in line with what I was learning in Christian Science for a year, I decided to stop drinking wine with my meals, quit taking the few medicines I was accustomed to, and use prayer as a means of health care. I also began to read the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson every day, amazed at how this study always seemed to apply directly to something going on in my life and in the world. I attended Wednesday afternoon testimony meetings and Sunday church services. And at the end of that year I found myself comfortably at home practicing Christian Science, with my daughters attending the Sunday School.
I didn't miss alcohol, and found that any physical issues were resolved by applying ideas from my own continuing spiritual studies sometimes with the prayerful support of a Christian Science practitioner.
