LETTERS

I am very grateful for Anthony Whitehouse's article "Christian in disasters: Prayer lifts trauma" in the September 20 issue of the Sentinel ["Technology—striking a balance"]. I live in San Bruno, California, which was the site of a major disaster on September 9, 2010, with a gas pipeline explosion and fire. I live about a mile from the affected area, and while I was safe and well and my residence and property were undamaged, I still was a bit shaken by the events.

I went to my mailbox on Saturday, September 11, and found this wonderful statement in the article: "God's law is operating right where people are in need, and it will comfort, guide, and console each one." This helped comfort and heal me.

Obviously this periodical was published in advance of the incidents in San Bruno. Nevertheless, it indicates the timeliness and relevance of Sentinel articles to meet the human needs of the moment.
