LEG PAIN HEALED

One bright winter morning I eagerly bundled up to take a brisk walk through my neighborhood. As I headed out, pain surged through one leg from top to bottom, making me a little unsteady on my feet.

Though somewhat taken aback with fearful thoughts about what was going on, I proceeded with my walk—in deep prayer declaring my oneness with God. The 91st Psalm, which I'd memorized as a child in the Christian Science Sunday School, came quickly to mind, and I especially focused on these verses: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone" (verses 11, 12).

At first I tried to figure out the origin of the pain. Had I experienced some kind of jarring movement or injury? The word movement caused me to reason that I lived and moved in God, and that the pain did not originate in Him, who is the Creator of all. Therefore, it had no place in me, His reflection. I knew that spiritual intuition would reveal further truths I needed.
