A modern Nehemiah story

Ralph wanted to start a band to play in the school band competition. He asked some of his friends, and they got started.

LESSON: If you know what you are doing is right, don't be put off.

Sandy, Tandy, and Tarcky (known as S, T, and T) were jealous of Ralph's band. They made fun of it. They said, "What's that awful racket? A cat in distress sounds better than that." But Ralph and his friends just ignored them and went on practicing.

About the author

Sam and Samuel attend the Christian Science Sunday School in Bournemouth, England. They both play instruments and have seen how persistent practice makes them become better players. Sam likes to play guitar. Samuel plays the keyboard and is learning the trumpet. In Sunday School they studied the story of Nehemiah in the Bible. Through persistence and love of God, Nehemiah was able to finish the big project of building the walls of the city of Jerusalem. This inspired Sam and Samuel to write and illustrate this story.
