QUICK HEALING OF BURNS

A number of years ago, I had a remarkable experience which proves beyond a doubt that scientific prayer in Christian Science heals.

At the time, I was one of 20 mechanics repairing cars for an automobile dealership. That particular day, working in a stall with a floor drain, I'd removed a leaky gas tank from a vehicle to clean and repair it. I was using a gas-fired steam cleaner, and I was unaware that the floor drain was plugged. Some of the gas, flushed from the tank, floated on top of the water in the drain, and suddenly the fumes ignited with explosive force. The explosion was so loud that all the employees came running to see what had happened and found me standing right in the middle of the fire. They were so concerned and alarmed that I was the one who had to get the extinguisher to put out the fire.

I'd already had many dramatic healings in Christian Science, so I immediately called a Christian Science practitioner for help. For example, once after cutting my finger to the bone, when a jackknife snapped shut on it, I so quickly rejected the possibility of anything being able to hurt me—since I'd learned that God made me entirely spiritual—that I watched the wound completely close, leaving no mark at all.
