A SPIRITUAL APPROACH TO JOB SEEKING
Karen McCoy has worked in the human resources field for many years and is currently Manager of Human Resources for The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Since she has interviewd countless applicants and has seen many employment cycles, the Sentinel's Rosalie Dunbar asked her to share some ideas about employment.
If you were talking to someone who is presently unemployed, what spiritual guidance would you give?
First, I'd say, "Don't give in to discouragement or fear." Beyond that, I'd even challenge the idea of being unemployed. The spiritual fact is that each of us is God's idea, created in His image and likeness. Therefore we are always employing those qualities that are Godlike.
