Look to a spiritual forecast

With rising food and gas prices, and home sales slumping across the United States, people are rightfully concerned about how they will pay for the necessities of living—the roof over their head, transportation to their jobs, the food on their plates. It can be all too easy for anyone, anywhere, to fall into the trap of thinking that their source of supply begins with what they do, how much money they earn, the decisions they've made in life. But each one of us has the spiritual authority to rely on a source of supply much greater than ourselves.

This week's Sentinel reaches out to individuals who might very well be asking themselves, "Will I make if financially?" The question is sincere, and our answer is hopeful: "Through prayer, you can, and you will make it."

Christ Jesus counseled: "Do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you" (Luke 12:29-31, New King James Version). This kingdom which Jesus illustrated in his teachings, is available now, this very second. It consists of knowing and doing good—of living in a consciousness that sees no lack and, as a result, experiences abundance.
