A GIFT OF HEALING

In December 2005, my husband and I traveled to Maui to join our son and his fiancee for a "destination wedding." The wedding party also included the bride's parents, sister, and brother-in-law.

Three days before the ceremony, on Christmas Eve day, I was walking along a grassy shoreline near our hotel, and stepped on a piece of rusty metal, which penetrated my foot. My husband was out snorkeling at the time, but the father of the bride was sitting nearby and quickly came to help me back to my room. He then went to get my husband.

When my husband arrived, I asked him to bring me my Bible. I opened it, trusting God to give me a healing idea. The passage I turned to was in the book of Micah: "For, behold, the Lord cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth" (1:3). I puzzled over what the verse meant.
