Dark road, unfamiliar place? LET SPIRITUALITY BE YOUR GUIDE

Early one morning on a bright, sunny day, my husband and I drove to his new office building about three hours from our home. His company had retrofitted a warehouse out of town for their employees, pulling together into one place staff that had been located in three different work centers, and this was their first day in the new building.

The warehouse was the second building from the main road, which ran through a rural area outside town. As he got out of the car, I asked him for his office phone number, but he said he didn't know his new number yet. So I drove away to check into our hotel and do a little shopping.

On my way to pick him up at the end of the day, stormy weather had closed in and it had become very dark and rainy. As I got closer to where I remembered his building being, I realized that there were no lights along the highway, nor were there any landmarks I could recognize.
