ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER

I REJOICE, FOR THIS DAY IS GOD'S

WHEN I WAS GROWING UP in rural Minnesota, my family would gather each morning to read a portion of the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson. Since we lived 90 miles from the nearest Christian Science church, our attendance was spotty, but I remember the Sunday School teachers were always patient and willing to answer my many questions. When I was in high school, reading the daily religious article in The Christian Science Monitor fostered my interest in learning about God even further.

I didn't recognize it at the time, but a firm spiritual foundation was emerging, on which I would be able to weather day-to-day challenges prayerfully.

My commitment to healing didn't come in a bright flash of understanding and acceptance of God's plan for me; it came little by little, in a gentle flow of inspiring ideas. I often felt joy and love that current circumstances couldn't account for, as if I were wrapped in a warm, soft blanket of unconditional love. And I found that always, as I was willing and ready to respond to God's direction, it was there for me.
