A Bible perspective
HERE'S WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MAN
FOR HUNDREDS, even thousands, of years, the men of the Bible have been role models for Sunday School girls and boys, clergy, church members, and spiritual thinkers of all kinds.
What kid being picked on by a bully wouldn't want to have Samson's muscles? Then there's Joseph, who triumphed over his jealous brothers with both wisdom and compassion. When they sold him into slavery in Egypt, they had no idea that this act would lead to their deliverance from death by famine, and save many other lives as well.
How about Moses' life? Raised as a prince of Egypt, but in hiding because he had killed a man, he was suddenly confronted by God, who gave him the task of leading his people to freedom. Accepting the assignment with courage and humility, Moses developed into a spiritual leader able to part the Red Sea, and to provide wisely for the people during their long journey in the wilderness. And Daniel? Threatened with death by lions unless he stopped worshiping his God, he courageously continued—and after a night in the lions' den, was set free, unharmed.
