God helped me

One day this summer my dog, Fritz, and I were playing with the hose in our backyard. After playing for a while, I heard buzzing noises around me. I bent my neck back to see what it was, and suddenly I was in a great deal of pain. A big bee had stung me. I was afraid the sting might hurt a long time, since that's what happened when I was stung before.

My Sunday School teacher and I had been talking about God's protective armor. We had thought about how you can wear it all the time—and nobody knows. It's not big and bulky. I used the idea of God's armor after the bee sting, by watching my thoughts and letting in good thoughts like "Nothing bad can touch you because God is all around."

My dad also shared how fear is described on page 586 in Science and Health. For example, it says that fear is "anxiety" and "error." We talked about how fear likes to make untrue suggestions. But bees are God's creatures, so they are not made to hurt us.
