THROUGH A SPIRITUAL LENS

WATERSHIP DOWN

The English countryside has a special place in my heart. Around where I live, it's invariably a patchwork of color—field after field, divided by hedges, with different crops reflecting the changing seasons. I love walking there, smelling the fresh air, and enjoying the slower pace of life. I feel such an inner peace and harmony.

Recently I was commissioned to photograph English fields. "I'm not a landscape photographer," I thought. "My landscape photos are flat and boring. I simply can't do this!"

But at the same time a soft angel voice whispered, "Just go out and express God's creativeness, and enjoy every moment of it." I realized how limiting my first response had been. Now, I listened and acted, and the ideas flowed. And this was one of the photos I took at a place called Watership Down in Hampshire.
