QUICK PRAYERFUL RESPONSE BRINGS INSTANT FREEDOM
As a student of Christian Science, I have relied on prayer to heal many health-related and other situations in my life.
Recently I was hit in the eye while playing squash. The thought that came immediately was, "Man is spiritual." The thought that came next was that I was to serve as First Reader in church in two days' time and that I ought not to turn up with a black eye.
I was aware that a squash ball reaching the eye socket at speed can do a lot of damage. But as a student of Christian Science, I knew also that understanding the spiritual nature of man can provide immunity from damage, and that I should claim that immunity. I covered the eye with a handkerchief and stood against a wall for a short time, praying according to my understanding of Christian Science.
