SEVERE PAIN STOPS WITH PRAYER

I am so very grateful for the gift of healing I received early last year. For a month or so, I had been having persistent pain in my head and my legs. Over a period of four days, the pain had become so constant and so severe that fear took over, and the pain was all I could think of.

Although I had been a member of the local Church of Christ, Scientist, in Nashville, I had dropped out of church for several months and had stopped studying Christian Science. Because of this, I did not pray about the pain at first, nor did I call a Christian Science practitioner for help. I kept thinking the pain would go away, but it did not.

One Saturday I got a call from one of our church members inviting me to a party for some of the women in our church. She told me that a woman whom I'd met once or twice before, who was a Christian Science practitioner, would be there. The church member who called me did not know that I was having any problem. But after I hung up with her, I immediately got a thought—I think of it as an angel thought from God—to call this practitioner and request that she pray for me. I phoned the practitioner that Saturday night, and she began to pray for me.
