Finding the Christ

Where do you find the Christ?
Is it in a foreign land
As sought by the Magi
And seen in a stable?
How do you find the Christ?
Is it by a brilliant light
That Paul perceived,
In heavenly revelation?
When do you find the Christ?
Is it only Christmas Day,
In special celebration
Of Jesus' joyous birth?
Who has knowledge of the Christ?
Was it Gentile wise men visiting Bethlehem,
Jewish disciples in Jerusalem, Christian apostles in Rome,
Or patriarchs and prophets in ancient time?
It has been all of these.

Who today can find the Christ?
Everyone at any time, anyone in every place,
Unaware Messiah-seekers of the faith-full or religion-less.
All can discover a way to, and what the Christ will do;
No guiding star, no blinding light, no waiting needed.
Perfect in living God, immortal Christ is known—
Sin forgiver, spiritual healer,
Sacred supplier, death defier,
Divine Comforter, holy Way-shower;
Eternal expression of Immanuel—God with us.
