SPECTACULAR VIEWS AND HEALING

It was a dream come true. My husband, the artist, had always wanted to take a boat along the Li River in China and view for himself the limestone, pointed mountains he had seen portrayed in Chinese art. It was a beautiful day, and we had a lovely lunch on the boat. Pulling in to the shoreline, I looked down and saw the people who worked in the galley washing the dishes in the river off the back of the boat. The thought that came to me was "How unsanitary!" I thought no more about it — until we had left China the next morning and were in Hong Kong.

That night, I had a violent case of diarrhea, and was up and down all night long. Every time I would wake up, the picture of dishes being washed in water I had seen water buffalo in and people bathing, swimming, and fishing in, kept coming to me with the thought, "No wonder you are sick!"

Now that is materialistic logic. I was drawing a conclusion about my sickness from a material basis, and it seemed to make sense — from a material perspective. That is mortal mind's reasoning, mortal mind being a presumptive mind that claims to oppose God, Spirit. Now, I certainly knew better, because I have had wonderful healings in Christian Science by correcting such negative, material thinking. Many times the truth of being that is based on the first chapter of Genesis — that God made all and it is spiritual and good — has overcome materially based reasoning, and I have been healed.
