No liability

We were alone on a Colorado mountaintop, having trekked the 11,000-foot peak without seeing another soul. Inspiring vistas and a powerful holy quiet had embraced me and my son.

Every detail of our trek had been intentional, including staking the tent near a ravine. It was all part of an adventure my son and I found thrilling. Until then, that is. I was terrified, and my concern grew into a solid object with a life of its own, preventing me from thinking or feeling any else.
