WE'RE NEVER ALONE
Whether a person lives in a crowded community or in a remote rural area, sometimes he or she may feel alone, especially in difficult or unexpected situations, perhaps emergencies.
This happened to me when I was eight years old. In the summer my family vacationed on my grandparents' farm. Even though there were no neighbors nearby, I felt very safe because my parents and my brothers were with me, although my father had to go to the city a few days a week because of his work.
One morning, around 3:00 a.m., I suddenly woke because I thought I heard, in the silence of the night, a voice calling. When I was more awake, I realized it was my mother calling for help. Immediately I got up and went to her room. In a very pitiful voice she asked me to help her because she had a severe pain. She could hardly speak because of it.
