A wonderful way of life

I would not have wanted to try raising three active children without the support of Christian Science. Through prayer, our family has had many healings, including those of colds, influenza, ivy poisoning, and broken bones. And we've felt God's protection during sometimes treacherous mountain driving.

As a child, I was constantly plagued with winter colds. But I am grateful to say that I have found that when such symptoms appear now, I can, through Christian Science, heal them immediately and with much success. I am able to counter the thoughts of sickness and cold symptoms with good thoughts from Truth, which to me is God. He is always present, and He is the only power. I've found that when I dwell on those facts and keep my mind filled with other spiritual truths, the symptoms of illness have no chance to grow and cannot control me. I often pray with a Bible verse from Galatians: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage" (5:1).
