"If to err is human and forgiveness divine, forgiving another person can pay off in major ways related to your health — so says a nationally distributed study that illustrates a clear link between lowered blood pressure and the ability to forgive. And, a Columbus [,Georgia,] hospital is helping spread the gospel.
" 'I think it's a good tool. When you look at yourself, what do you see? A free spirit? Are there things you're holding on to?' said the Rev. George Cofield, pastor of Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church, who's in the midst of a six–week course at St. Francis Hospital to learn more about the study, called 'Hypertension Reduction Through Forgiveness Training.'
