'SOME THINGS ARE JUST AMAZING'
It was more than 20 years ago that I was working as a marketing director, making a lot of money, and traveling around the world.
One early evening, I was in my car racing down a hill. At the bottom, I realized my brakes were failing and I wouldn't be able to stop at an upcoming intersection. My three-year-old son was in the back seat. He was what we called our "miracle baby" because it had taken seven years for me finally to become pregnant.
I saw to my left a car just flying toward me. I tried to accelerate to get past it, but it forcefully collided with my car right at the point where my son was. After we came to rest, I'll never forget looking around my wrecked car and thinking, "God—if You're there—if my baby is fine, I will search for You, and find You, wherever You are." Then I saw a bit of my son's blanket poking out, and I dug and pulled, until he just popped out from under the seat. He was totally unscathed.
