At home at church

I never thought in a million years that I would join a church. When I was growing up, our family attended church mostly for social reasons. My parents took me to a Protestant church where I sang in the choir, and I also visited other churches with friends. But nothing I was hearing or seeing really made sense to me. Every fiber of my being rebelled against what I considered to be the empty formalities at church services, as well as some of the ways religion was taught. It didn't make sense to me that God would make us all sinners.

When I met the people at church, I felt loved.
