Persistent PRAYER for healing
On An Early-December Sunday afternoon, I was securing a ten-foot Christmas tree into a stand. All of a sudden, the tree found its right groove in the stand and fell to the bottom at full force, nearly severing a section of my index finger as the tree pinned itself into the stand.
With help, I was able to get the tree back out of the stand and to remove my finger. I wrapped it up, and immediately turned to God in prayer. I wanted to feel His presence and to know that His help was at hand. Prayer has been a mainstay of my daily activity, regardless of what the situation may be. For me, it's very natural to turn to God in prayer and to expect results.
I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me in prayer—to give me Christian Science treatment. This was a stabilizing factor right away. We established in our prayers the fact that I was really a spiritual being, and that God was indeed right with me. The practitioner's prayer was instrumental in handling the shock I felt as a result of the injury.
