I really enjoyed the interview with Dr. Levi Price in the March 17 Sentinel. How right he is in saying that churches must get outside their doors and make a difference in their town. When Mary Baker Eddy established [The First Church of Christ, Scientist], she made provision for its branch churches to do just this by distributing literature, having Reading Rooms, and holding public lectures.

In recent years my church has moved its Reading Room to a permanent stall in an indoor market where it is open for normal shop hours, and we are now giving four lunch-time lectures each year, which, largely because of our Reading Room, are increasingly well attended by the public. Many lives in Derby are now being benefited by our getting outside our church doors. Thank you for the current format of the Sentinel, which is so easy to share widely.
