Quietly onward

The faithful follow a steady star,
their joy gathered on dusty paths
in the bustling day or ponderous night,
for they know the fountains along the way
that freshen the heart and liven the step.
With adoring eye they catch the light—
celestial gleam of good—and goodness
welling up in them flows out to all
in silent thoughts, whose Christly touch restores,
redeems, and meekly moves the ages on.
