I love the Sentinel and joyfully read each issue cover to cover: Yet, recently I realized that despite finding the articles interesting and uplifting, I was not in turn actively applying them to my life. Sentinel reading had become a checklist item, reading so many pages per day to finish this week's issue before the next one arrived. I thanked God for this wake-up call and determined to find at least one idea in each article to pause and reflect on—to use in my daily experiences.
I started to highlight as I read, something I had not done much before because I wanted to keep each Sentinel clean for redistribution to other readers. Now I highlight, reread, and think about what I highlighted before reading the next article. About this time I read the November 4 Sentinel—what gems I found! It's obvious that the Sentinel is aimed at applying the ideas—not just reading about them. Thank you for laying the groundwork for God to wake up/change my thought about how I was reading and using the Sentinel.
