Thank you for the October 28 Sentinel ["Linked in peace"]. I generally dislike any publications that emphasize one group over another, such as the emphasis on women in that issue. But I am growing, so let me tell what I have learned.
The statement from New York Post Journalist Ralph Peters in the article on page 23, where he notes that a country that suppresses women in cutting itself off from half its resources, is an eye-opener, simple in its logic and very powerful in its statement. The US had done this with its women and several other races, but we are learning!
I sometimes wonder why my country is so blessed and think that it is because we are such a mixture of peoples searching and finding religious freedom. But thanks to this issue I have a better understanding of how we are using our other resources so fully. It is my hope that we become better yet!
