Healed without surgery
(Originally published in The Herald of Christian Science)
When my son was four years old, my husband was serving in the United States Navy here in Japan. We were living off base in a Japanese home.
Approximately a year into my husband's tour of duty, my son and daughter were with me one day while I was preparing dinner. My son Erik bumped into a pot of hot oil on the stove, and it spilled on him.
We removed his oil-soaked pajamas as quickly as possible. We began to pray right away, because he was in severe pain. We also called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us for the boy. We prayed to understand more clearly that he was spiritual and perfect, a creation of God. We prayed to see that Erik's relationship with God could never be disturbed.
