An introduction to healing
During World War II, I was serving in the British Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm, stationed just outside Sydney, Australia. While helping out in a forces canteen, I was befriended by a local family.
One evening I was at their home, when one of the children burned his hand on the electric hotplate. Although I thought he and his mother were doing nothing about it, they were, in fact, praying. In a short time they returned to the kitchen. and the boy's mother had him show me his hand. I could not believe it—there was barely a mark on it! That was my first contact with Christian Science, and I decided that it was for me. I sent to The Mother Church in the United States for a copy of Science and Health, which was sent to me along with a Bible in a small edition designed for armed forces personnel. I still have and treasure these today.
