Even when I got to be a grown-up, I was afraid of the dark.
Maybe it came from hearing late-night ghost stories and watching scary TV programs and movies. I didn't tell anyone how scared I was.
Then one night I was at a meeting in a big old building downtown, and someone asked me to go get something from an unlighted area upstairs. That wasn't where I wanted to go!
