Pain and infection stopped by prayer
When I was a child, I went to a Christian Science Sunday School. As an adult I recognised Christian Science as the truth, but I never studied it seriously. After I married, I realised I needed a spiritual foundation for my life, especially for the upbringing of my children. The only answer for me was to make a commitment to the teachings of the Science of Christianity.
My confidence in these teachings resulted from a particular healing. I fell and cut my leg, which became badly infected. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me through prayer, and immediately the excruciating pain stopped. But the infection continued to spread.
At this time my husband, who wasn't interested in Christian Science, developed a badly infected arm. He had an appointment with his doctor, who said jovially that we were lucky to have modern medicine, as without it my husband's condition could be very serious. This frightened me to bits. I began to wonder if I had the courage to rely completely on God for healing.
