DOES GOD LOVE BULLIES?
When I was a little girl, I learned that God is Love and that He loves each one of us. I learned that God is always with us, too.
One day when I was in first grade, I had a chance to prove this. My friend and I were at the end of the playground, away from the rest of the kids. All of a sudden, a boy in our class appeared from nowhere. George was much bigger than we were. He had a big stick in his hand and said he was going to hit us. But I wasn't afraid, because I knew that God was taking care of all of us, including George. I told him, "George, you don't want to hurt us, because God loves you, and we love you, too." When George heard that, he just put the stick down and walked away. And that was the last time George ever tried anything like that.
If anybody ever tries to scare you, you don't have to be afraid. One of my favorite hymns tells why that's true. It says,
