Travel proceeds harmoniously; abdominal pain healed
Recently, as our family prepared for a long-awaited camping trip to the mountains some five hundered miles from home, I spent much of each day in spiritual study. I wanted to understand that safety and trust lay in God's care for everyone, and to demonstrate this.
After about three hundred miles of travel, we stopped for the night, as our van would no longer pull our trailer. Road service informed us we needed to wait until Monday to repair our alternator. This was Saturday night, and the delay would detain eight other people traveling with us. But one member of our group remembered friends who had moved to the town we were in, and she telephoned them and learned that their son was a mechanic. He fixed our van, and the next morning we were on our way. What a joy to witness God's care.
While returning home, and only twenty-three miles from our house, the van stopped running because of a broken belt. Again, it was a Saturday night, and we thought we had to wait until Monday for repairs, when my husband remembered he had an extra belt. With our son's help, he was able to replace the belt. In forty-five minutes we were again on the road and soon back home. We thanked our heavenly Father for the care and love He showed us through following His direction.
