Think you're a misfit?
There's a place and purpose right now reserved just for you.
I was in the kitchen of a community center where an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting was being held. A lovely-looking woman entered and said: "Hello there. I'm Jill; I'm a drunk!" "Oh, no you're not" I replied. "You're a child of God." My response drew a smile, and we exchanged some pleasantries.
For anyone who thinks of himself or herself as inherently bad, a kind of misfit in society, that's a message for you, too. In reality, we're each the child of God, and we each have a place in His universe. The divine creation would be incomplete without you or me. Our Maker has created us to be the individual expression of His goodness and intelligence. Here's what the Bible says: "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ... And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Gen. 1:27, 31).
