Overcoming fear restores impaired vision
Eight years ago, I was startled that I failed an eye examination when renewing my driver's license. I asked for a recheck. I failed it, too. Humbly, I resigned myself to wearing corrective lenses in order to be in accord with the state laws for safe driving.
I contacted a Christian Science practitioner about this new restriction to ask for treatment through prayer. What I got from the conversation we had was that it was simply fear—nothing more, nothing less—that was limiting me. That perspective stuck with me the next four years.
Every time I thought about the glasses or used them when I was driving, I asked myself what I was afraid of right then. After seeing through the false belief of the particular fear I was entertaining, I replaced it with the truth about God's creation and His perfect ever-present idea, man.
