Healing of fear and apparent heart attack
Over 25 years ago, an issue of The Christian Science Journal arrived at our home, which included an article that was the answer to my prayer. I had been so distraught over a situation concerning my young son that I couldn't seem to think of anything else. Even though I'd been raised practicing Christian Science and was used to turning to God when in need, I was so absorbed by the problem that I couldn't think clearly how to pray about it. This wonderful article made it clear that God, our loving Father-Mother, is always holding all His dear children in His heart—a gentle, powerful, ever-present heart! It was clearer to me than ever before that our children really belong to God, who is wholly capable of caring for them under all circumstances.
By the time my son returned from visiting his dad (we had been divorced for several years), my fear was completely gone, and he was fine. I was so healed, in fact, that I can no longer remember what his problem was! But the truths expressed in that article have stayed with me even to today. I've found them helpful not just in praying for my own children and now their children, but in praying for the children of the world. I'm so grateful for the Christian Science periodicals, which are full of spiritual ideas that meet our daily needs.
Another healing that occurred several years later also involved "heart." I had recently gone through a tragic situation, and was working two jobs. I found myself one day flat on my back with what appeared to be a heart attack. I had been having chest pains for several days and already had asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.
