"Love is . . ."

. . . what makes us know
we are found treasure,
not buried under guilt,
self-doubt, or condemnation.

Love is what cared for us
all those years of being
so careful not to offend,
not to fail, to somehow win approval.

Even then, Love was tangible,
teaching us to trust
every moment of freedom,
so we can admit

the reality of being loved
from the beginning
without interruption.

"Always wanted, never alone,"
this Love tells us.
It is Life itself.
