A Study by Environmental Research Associates (ERA) of Princeton, New Jersey, indicates that young people born between 1979 and 1994 are more committed to environmental issues than their parents. According to a report on the study in American Demographics (April 1999) "almost half have asked their parents to do something to help the environment (such as recycling), and their parents did."

Last fall, an ERA poll showed that one in two Americans will change to another product brand if the new brand is friendlier to the environment. Although some Americans do not want to pay more for earth-friendly products, many are willing to change their lifestyles to save the planet.

When a recent survey asked college freshmen who they'd most like to dine with — anyone in any era — the No. 1 answer was Jesus.
